WHY PADI?

The Most Popular

The letters PADI stand for the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. Established in 1966, PADI is the largest and most popular scuba training organization in the world.  Approximately 70% of the divers certified each year in the United States are certified as PADI divers.  Over 13 million divers have been trained using the PADI educational system of diving.  Needless to say, the PADI system is tried and true.

International Recognition

PADI is the world’s largest and most popular diver training organization, with over 100,000 professional members and facilities in more than 175 countries and territories.  When you travel with your PADI certification, you can be confident that your diving credentials will be recognized and accepted anywhere in the world you wish to dive.

Quality

While big is not always best, PADI is big because they are the best. In particular, PADI instructors are well trained and their adherence to standards is closely monitored by the PADI quality assurance organization.

One reason that Sand-n-Sea Scuba Diving Center chooses PADI and only PADI is that all of our PADI instructors have been tested by an unbiased examiner from PADI’s corporate headquarters.  Our instructors must first reach the professional level of Divemaster, have extensive diving experience, and then complete a two-week instructor development course.  Our instructors must then pass the grueling unbiased two-day instructor examination.

Most non-PADI instructors were tested by an employee of the dive shop where they will be employed.  This is a huge conflict of interest that we do not agree with.  PADI methods simply translate to a higher level of Quality Assurance for you the student.

Another quality that sets PADI apart is the quality of its training system and materials.  PADI developed its system to stringent educational standards.

Educational Validity

PADI’s scuba training system is unparalleled in the industry.  PADI's courses have been independently evaluated and recommended for college credit equivalency by the American Council on Education (ACE).  We are proud of the ACE approval as an independent corroboration of the educational validity of our courses.  All PADI credentialed divers are entitled to receive this benefit.  PADI courses have received similar recognition from other educational institutions internationally.  Discriminating dive students should ask why PADI has been the only training organization with this distinction.

Sand-n-Sea Scuba Diving Center gives you the most popular, internationally recognized, quality oriented certification on the planet!  Our educational system is second to none!  Sand-n-Sea Scuba Diving Center, the best way to learn to dive!
