RESCUE DIVER CERTIFICATION COURSE
Rescue Diver training
will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary,
manage dive emergencies. Expand your knowledge
and experience beyond the purely recreational level.
Learn to look beyond yourself and consider the safety
and well being of other divers. This course
is an enjoyable way to build your confidence in the
water.
Classroom sessions and
knowledge reviews provide the background knowledge for
exercises in the water.
During the twelve open
water exercises performed over two days, you'll cover:
- self-rescue
and diver stress
- dive first aid
- emergency
management and equipment
- swimming and
non-swimming assists
- panicked diver
response
- underwater
problems
- missing diver
procedures
- surfacing the
unconscious diver
- in-water
artificial respiration
- egress (exits)
- first aid
procedures for pressure related accidents
- dive accident
scenarios

Prerequisites:
- PADI Advanced Open
Water Diver or PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver
certification (or qualifying certification from
another organization).
- Successful completion
of a sanctioned CPR and First Aid program, such as
PADI's Emergency First Response, within the
past 24 months.
- If
you are currently under the care of a medical doctor or
have a pre-existing condition that requires permission
from a physician, you will need to have a medical
release prior to any in-water activities. PADI

Minimum Age: 15
(12 for PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver)

Limited to 8 students
Course Includes:

- Personalized
instruction by a certified PADI Instructor &
Divemaster.
- Laminated PADI
Certification card upon successful completion of
coursework and all twelve open water exercises.
- Weights and tanks are
provided at no additional cost.
- For your safety, all
Sand-n-Sea staff members are certified PADI
professionals with current training in CPR and First
Aid.

Your Responsibilities:
- Provide or
purchase scuba mask, fins, snorkel, and dive
boots.
- Provide or rent
BCD, wetsuit, regulator, octopus, compass and
gauges.
- Purchase a PADI
Rescue Diver Crew Pack and Rescue Diver Video.
- You may need to
provide or purchase a hood and gloves for the
Rescue Diver dives according to local
weather conditions.
- Prior to coming
to the class you must read all of the course
materials and complete all knowledge reviews.
- Provide entry
fee for dive sites and any necessary air
fills. Entry Fees: Circleville
$10/day, Gilboa $12/day. Air Fills:
approximately $7/fill.
- Bring your Open
Water Certification card or most recent
certification card and log book to the dive
site.
